課程概述

This course is intended to provide a basic appreciation of the overall picture of the Austronesian/Formosan language family for (senior undergraduate and first-year/junior graduate) students who have some knowledge of one or more Austronesian/Formosan languages. We will cover (1) an overview of the geographical, cultural and historical background to the Austronesian language family, and (2) selected topics on Austronesian/Formosan morpho-syntax from a typological perspective, with particular emphasis on issues related to morphosyntax (reduplication/sa-), voice system, argument structure, numerals/quantifiers, deixis/space concept etc. 

課程目標
